Spike Triathlon Club Membership
Spike Triathlon Club was founded in 2001 and has grown to a stable base of over a hundred, fit, healthy, and passionate individuals and families. These people are otherwise known as "triathletes". Spike has provided athletes to every Triathlon World Championships since its inception and in most years has had qualifiers at the World Ironman Triathlon Championships in Hawaii. In one single year the club had over 30 competitors at the Australian Ironman. Spike Triathlon has also been named National Triathlon Club Champions 3 times (2005, 2006 and 2007) at Mooloolaba Olympic Distance triathlon with the club averaging more than 40 competitors at each of the Noosa and Mooloolaba events over the last 5 years, generally with several age-group winners and podium places. We are always well represented at all of the local races, including the Gatorade and Bribie Island triathlon series, with the club tent prominent for the support of the members. Our affiliation with Fidler Sports offers club members the opportunity to train under Australian Triathlon Champion, Troy Fidler, providing committed triathletes the training guidance to considerably improve their performance. The emphasis of Spike Triathlon is on participation and enjoyment, and as such, the social side of Spike Triathlon provides a fun and family-friendly environment. Within this environment we cover the full spectrum of triathletes; we have national champions through to people competing in their first triathlon.
